Robert Bauerstatter, Viola

Biography

Robert Bauerstatter was born in 1971 in Linz. His first violin lessons began at the Musikschule der Stadt Linz, further music education at Bruckner-Konservatorium and at the Musikgymnasium Linz, where he graduated in 1990. Mr. Bauerstatter studied Viola at the University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and graduated in 2000 with honours. His principal teachers have included Prof. Siegfried Führlinger and Prof. Peter Ochsenhofer; he also attended masterclasses with Prof. Wolfgang Klos and Gèrard Caussè. Robert Bauerstatter was member of  Niederösterreichisches Tonkünstler-Orchester from 1998-2001. Since September 2001 he is member of the Orchestra of the Vienna State Opera,since 2005 in the position of a subprincipal.2004 he became a member of Vienna Philharmonic.
